IRMO, S.C. — Pianist and showman Mike Stone is moving his yearly birthday concert to a new stage this fall, booking his 40th birthday celebration at Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College in Irmo for a 7:30 p.m. show on Friday, Nov. 20.
The Saluda native reached a national audience as a finalist in season six of America’s Got Talent. The Irmo date will be his first appearance at Harbison Theatre, and he plans to share the stage with a group of guest artists and friends.
His music pulls from R&B, soul, funk, jazz and gospel, and he has held long-running gigs in places such as New Orleans and Key West. His birthday shows in the Columbia area have become a fall ritual for Midlands fans, and organizers expect this milestone year to be the largest one so far. Earlier this year, in June, he headlined a summer concert at North Springs Park put on by the Richland County Recreation Commission.
The theater sits at 7300 College St. General admission is $30 and VIP seats are $40. Signature Series discounts of $5 apply for students, military members and anyone 60 or older. Tickets are sold through the box office at 803-407-5011 and on the theater’s website.
