IRMO, S.C. — Families in Lexington-Richland School District Five can spend Tuesday evening at Irmo Middle School getting straight answers on drinking, vaping and drugs. The district’s Shatter the Myth: Substance Use program runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the school on Wescott Road.
The night opens with dinner from 5 to 5:45 p.m. From 6 to 7:30 p.m., parents and students split up for activities pitched to each age group, and the evening closes with a family discussion and resource sharing from 7:30 to 8 p.m.
Any family in the district may come, and kids of every age can join in. Childcare will be provided along with dinner, but seating is limited.
The district had asked families to RSVP by Oct. 20. Irmo Middle is at 6051 Wescott Road.
