NEWBERRY, S.C. — The Newberry College field hockey team has wrapped up the South Atlantic Conference regular-season crown for a third year in a row, and the prize this time includes hosting every game of the league tournament in Newberry next month.
The Wolves are 13-1 overall and unbeaten in league play at 10-0. The title gives them the top seed and a first-round bye, so their postseason begins in the semifinal round.
Newberry plays its semifinal on Friday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m., and the title game is set for Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m., both on the Newberry College campus.
The program has a title to defend. Conference records for the 2025-26 school year list Newberry as champion of both the regular season and the tournament in field hockey, making the Wolves the team everyone else in the league is chasing again this fall.
Local fans will get a chance to watch the Wolves try to repeat that double without leaving town.
