COLUMBIA, S.C. — Two straight wins over ranked teams have South Carolina football trending up in the analytics, and the Gamecocks now know when they will play their next home game: the SEC set the Nov. 7 visit from Texas A&M for 3 p.m. Eastern at Williams-Brice Stadium, with a national television audience.
The 27-24 victory over then-No. 11 Tennessee, which followed a 38-19 win against Florida, lifted Shane Beamer’s team to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in league play. It also moved the Gamecocks up three places to No. 26 in the Football Power Index ratings, good for 11th among SEC teams.
The model now projects South Carolina to finish around 6.4 wins and gives the team an 80.5 percent chance of reaching six victories and bowl eligibility. The Gamecocks rank 35th nationally in offensive efficiency, 53rd on defense and 17th on special teams, where the game-winning kick against Tennessee and a punt downed at the 2-yard line helped.
Before the Aggies arrive, the Gamecocks go on the road to Oklahoma on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Texas A&M will come in rested. The Aggies are 4-4 and 1-4 in SEC play after a 31-20 loss at Alabama and have an open date this week. They hold a 10-2 lead in the series since joining the SEC in 2014, but South Carolina won the last two meetings in Columbia, in 2022 and 2024.
Last fall in College Station, Texas A&M rallied from 27 points down to beat the Gamecocks 31-30, the largest comeback in Aggies history. They have not won at Williams-Brice since 2020.
