IRMO, S.C. — Bowers Ace Hardware plans to open its newest store in Irmo next month, making the Broad River Road shop the sixth location for the locally owned South Carolina company.
The store is at 10546 Broad River Road. Doors open Monday, Nov. 9, in a soft opening. A grand opening follows on Saturday, Nov. 21, set for 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with a cookout, product demonstrations from brand representatives, grill giveaways, room makeover allowances and special pricing.
The building covers 14,000 square feet and adds a 5,000-square-foot garden center. Shoppers will find hardware, paint, lawn and garden supplies, grills and other home improvement goods. The company is modeling the Irmo shop on the store it opened earlier this year in the Elgin-Pontiac area, and it will offer the full Benjamin Moore Premium and Professional paint line with delivery for homeowners and contractors.
Company president Claude Bowers said the goal stays the same at every store: knowledgeable staff, products in stock and help getting projects finished.
The company began in 2016 as South East Ace Hardware after Bowers bought stores in Cayce and on Beltline Boulevard. Besides Irmo, it now runs stores in Cayce, Columbia, Lexington, Elgin and Johns Island.
