The game included notable performances from multiple players, most notably pitcher Cooper Coleman, who demonstrated resilience despite being hit on the hand by a line drive in the first inning. Undeterred, he led off the bottom of the first inning with a double, setting the tone for the team’s offensive display. Avery Weaver followed with a powerful two-run homer in the same inning. Throughout the match, West Florence hit a total of three home runs.

This victory marked West Florence’s 20th win of the season, a significant milestone they have now achieved for the third consecutive year. With their strong performance against Irmo, West Florence secured a place in the next round of playoffs, which is scheduled for Monday against either Lucy Beckham or Chapin.

The team returned to action after an eight-day layoff and showcased exceptional skill and focus. Carson Haynes and Chase Anderson both made impressive contributions, with each hitting two-run homers that helped expand the team’s lead. Chase Anderson particularly shined with a batting record of 3 for 4, accumulating five RBIs throughout the game. Ryan Coscetti also played a crucial role, finishing with a performance of 3 for 4, including a double and an RBI.

As the game progressed, Derrick Austin added an RBI double in the third inning that extended West Florence’s lead to 6-1. Following this, Haynes hit another two-run homer, followed closely by Anderson’s homer, solidifying a 12-5 advantage. Coscetti later secured the victory with an RBI single in the sixth inning, pushing the lead to a commanding 10 runs, which ended the game early.

The strong preparation leading up to the game was evident, as players executed plays with precision and confidence. Under the guidance of Coach Josh Brown, the team’s resilience and camaraderie have been pivotal in their successful season.
