Columbia, SC – Venture X is set to launch a new coworking space in the heart of downtown Columbia, with the grand opening scheduled for October 2025. Located on the 18th floor of the building at 1901 Main Street, the new facility will span 17,179 square feet and offer 84 private offices tailored for entrepreneurs, executives, and creatives.
Designed to foster a collaborative atmosphere, the project will feature a range of premium amenities. Members who lease a private office will benefit from 24/7 access, complimentary snacks, reliable internet, housekeeping services, and unlimited coffee, tea, water, and fresh fruit. In addition to private offices, the coworking space will accommodate conference room rentals and virtual address services, available prior to the official opening.
The facility will include a 1,000-square-foot lounge for functions and rentals, along with a training room capable of hosting up to 58 attendees for seminars or classes. A common area lounge will showcase breathtaking 360-degree views of the city, featuring expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. Design elements will incorporate high ceilings, modern lighting, custom coworking furniture, and artwork reflective of Columbia’s rich and diverse history.
The project is spearheaded by founders Jason and Kimberly Rickman, who have already pre-leased 25% of the spaces to Founding Members. These early adopters will enjoy incentives such as waived enrollment fees and free furniture. Both founders possess extensive backgrounds in finance, real estate, and construction management, with Kimberly holding a bachelor’s degree in economics and being a multi-state licensed real estate broker and investor. Jason has a degree in small business management and oversees operations for their real estate investments.
Venture X aims to create a vital ecosystem for collaboration among various professionals, including nonprofits, startups, and corporate entities. This initiative is driven by the recognition of a growing need for flexible and modern office spaces in Columbia, particularly in light of the city’s vibrant community of small businesses and entrepreneurs. The new coworking space is anticipated to alleviate the current shortage of flexible coworking options in the local market.
The building housing Venture X is part of a 17-story Class A office complex, designed to provide high-end amenities. The leasing process was facilitated by Allen Wilkerson, vice president and shareholder of the Office Services Team, who played a critical role in securing the lease for the new coworking space.
Venture X is an established provider of coworking space solutions, boasting 47 locations across the United States, including several in South Carolina. The anticipated opening in downtown Columbia marks an important step in responding to the demand for adaptable workspaces in this growing urban area.
