Irmo, South Carolina – MaKiley Ford and Chong Han “Andrew” Zhao have been named the recipients of the 2025 Friends of the Irmo Branch Library Scholarships. Both students will each receive a one-time scholarship amounting to $2,000 in recognition of their outstanding contributions as Junior Volunteers at the Irmo Branch Library.
MaKiley Ford is preparing to graduate in May from the Cyber Academy of South Carolina and has been accepted to both the University of South Carolina and Howard University. She is the daughter of Janet Caudle and James Ford. In addition to her achievements at the library, MaKiley received the Sunshine Award for her dedicated volunteer efforts this past year. Her time volunteering at the Irmo Library has been described by her as incredibly rewarding and enjoyable.
Chong Han “Andrew” Zhao is currently an International Baccalaureate Diploma student at Irmo High School and is also set to graduate in May. He has received acceptance into the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina. Andrew is the son of You CaiRong and Zhao He. His contributions to the library include assisting with book donation days and participating in book sales as a Junior Volunteer, in addition to his efforts with the Friends of the Irmo Branch Library.
