Columbia, SC – A series of dynamic events are planned to celebrate Independence Day across South Carolina, taking place from July 3 to July 4. Highlights include fireworks displays, live music, parades, and various family-friendly activities, catering to all ages and interests.

One of the key events, the South Carolina Philharmonic’s Fireworks with the Phil, is set for Thursday, July 3, at Segra Park. The event begins at 8 p.m., with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. This popular event requires attendees to have tickets, which will see a price increase of $2 on July 3. Those who purchased tickets for the original date will still be able to use them.

On July 4, a Born in the USA 4-mile race will kick off the day’s celebrations at 7:04 a.m. at Trenholm Road and Forest Drive, with on-site registration starting at 6:04 a.m. Following the race, the city will offer a variety of activities throughout the day.

In Irmo, a free laser light show will be held at Moore Park from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with complimentary hotdogs provided while supplies last. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for a comfortable viewing experience.

The Lexington County Peach Festival will take place in Gilbert from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. This festival features a parade, over 100 arts and crafts exhibits, an antique car show, rides for children, various food options, and a fireworks display scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

Fort Jackson will also celebrate Independence Day with festivities from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hilton Field. This event includes food, beverages, amusement rides, musical performances, and a fireworks show. The program is designed to be enjoyable for families, with a dedicated kids’ zone available.

The annual Law Enforcement Fireworks display will be hosted at Newberry High School starting at 6 p.m. Fireworks are set to commence at 9 p.m. The City of Pickens will provide their own fireworks show, further contributing to the festive atmosphere across the state.

Numerous other free fireworks shows will light up the Upstate. Notable events include Red, White and Boom in Spartanburg, the Historic Easley 4th of July Festival, Pelzer Fireworks, and the City of Seneca Independence Day Celebration, among others. Many local parks and venues recommend attendees bring their own seating to enjoy food and activities throughout the holiday.

For those looking for an evening of music and fun, the Columbia Fireflies will be playing at Segra Park on July 4, with post-game fireworks to round off the night. Additionally, the Town of Lexington’s annual Independence Day event at Icehouse Amphitheater will commence at 7 p.m., with fireworks scheduled for 9:20 p.m.

A free fireworks display will also occur at Lake Wateree State Park, running from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and culminating in fireworks at 9:30 p.m. The Orangeburg County Fairgrounds will host their own Fourth of July event, which will feature a hot dog eating contest, starting at 4 p.m. and ending with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

In Summerville and North Charleston, fireworks are permitted from 9 p.m. on July 4 through 1 a.m. on July 5; however, fireworks are prohibited in the City of Charleston and Folly Beach. This range of activities highlights the community spirit as South Carolina prepares to celebrate Independence Day, providing residents and visitors alike with options to enjoy this year’s festivities safely.
