She was a longtime resident of Camden and an influential figure in her community, remembered for her contributions to education and her deep commitment to volunteer service.

Mrs. Team was the wife of the late Benjamin Leslie Team, Jr., with whom she shared a marriage of 61 years. Her death came after an extended stay at The Columbia Presbyterian Community, where she was known for her warmth and kindness.

Born on July 10, 1933, in Camden, she was the daughter of John E. and Estelle Watts Cassady. Mrs. Team attended Camden High School and later earned college credit from the University of South Carolina, laying the foundation for her career in education.

Throughout her professional life, Mrs. Team worked as a teacher assistant at several local schools, including Saluda River Elementary School, Pine View Elementary School, Dutch Fork High School, and Irmo High School. Her dedication to teaching and nurturing students left a lasting impact on many young lives.

In addition to her teaching career, Mrs. Team was an active volunteer at Lexington Medical Center, where she devoted many hours to helping others. Her community involvement also extended to multiple civic groups, reflecting her commitment to enhancing the lives of those around her.

A passionate genealogist, Mrs. Team enjoyed researching family histories, a hobby she often shared with her husband. Following his passing, she continued her research and collaborated with collegiate historians, earning recognition for her contributions that were cited in professional publications.

Mrs. Team is survived by her six children: Grayson Team Sarvis, Helen Team Sons Vickery, Andrea Team Harrison, Benjamin Leslie Team III, John Stephen Team, and Karl Alexander Team. She also leaves behind a cherished family of grandchildren, including Miki Keisler, Ross Sons, Virginia Harrison Wright, Andrew Harrison, Patrick Harrison, Ben Team IV, Scott Team, Stacy Scott, Alex Team, Ryan Team, Karl Team Jr., and Adam Team. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by a sister, Janet Cassady Todd, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Team was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Leslie Team, Jr., as well as sons-in-law David Sons and Russell Sarvis, leaving a legacy of love and family.

Funeral services for Helen Cassady Team will take place at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church on April 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Woodridge Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, on April 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The life of Helen Cassady Team is a testament to the profound influence of dedicated educators and volunteers in our communities. Her legacy will continue to inspire future generations, reminding us of the importance of service, family, and love.
