IRMO, S.C. — The Irmo Yellow Jackets turned Friday night into a rout, shutting out Aiken 52-0 behind six touchdown throws from quarterback Britton Davis.
With the victory, Irmo locked down the runner-up spot in Region 5-4A, which guarantees the team a first-round playoff game on its own field.
Davis spread the ball around all night. Receivers Ethan Singletary and Demarion Arrington caught two scores apiece, and the Irmo defense kept Aiken off the board from start to finish.
Across the Midlands, Week 10 of the SCHSL regular season also included a 31-24 overtime win by Lexington over Chapin and a 49-6 River Bluff victory over White Knoll, with only one week left before the postseason brackets are set.
Irmo now turns to its regular-season finale with its playoff seeding in the region already secured.
