IRMO, S.C. — Because Irmo straddles two counties, voters there get an early voting center on each side of the line when early ballots for the statewide general election open Monday, Oct. 19.
Residents registered in Lexington County can vote at the Midlands Tech campus at 7300 College Street. Those registered in Richland County have the Ballentine Community Center at 1009 Bickley Road, which carries an Irmo address.
Voters must use a center in their own county. Lexington County also has sites at Chapin Town Hall and its elections office in Lexington, while Richland County offers others in Columbia, including the USC Blatt PE Building on Wheat Street.
Every center keeps the same hours, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and the last day to vote early is Saturday, Oct. 31. Bring a photo ID.
Regular voting at neighborhood precincts takes place Tuesday, Nov. 3.
