Exciting New Housing Development 'Midtown at BullStreet' Set to Transform Columbia's Bull Street District

Exciting New Housing Development Coming to Columbia’s Bull Street District!

Columbia, S.C. — Big changes are on the horizon for the Bull Street district as a brand new development called ‘Midtown at BullStreet’ is gearing up to bring more than 700 housing units to the area. This project aims to provide a diverse range of housing options, focusing on what’s being dubbed “attainable housing.”

Developer Shares Exciting Updates

At a recent meeting held on Monday, the project’s owner and developer, Kevin Connelly, shared some thrilling updates about the residential development. Connelly, who runs both Connelly Builders and Connelly Development, expressed that the housing portion is getting closer to completion. “The total development cost is $27,000,323,” he said. Even though there have been some delays, he remains optimistic about the timeline. Expect the townhomes to be ready by late December this year, while the larger apartment units are set to wrap up by late April 2025.

A Bright Future for Bull Street Residents

When all is said and done, this fantastic development is expected to house over 1,000 residents. That’s plenty of new neighbors to make the Bull Street community even more vibrant! As for amenities, residents can look forward to a whole slew of features to enhance their living experience. These will include a spacious community room, modern exercise facilities, a library, a computer center, a playground for the little ones, and a lovely gazebo for gathering.

High Demand Anticipated

Connelly believes that the demand for these housing units will be sky-high! “The property will fill up very quickly. Typically, whenever we go to market with a community like this, it’ll lease up in just three months!” he shared enthusiastically.

Prioritizing Diverse Housing Needs

The main goal of the Midtown development is to create a perfect blend of housing types to cater to different needs within the community. Not only will there be affordable rental options, but there will also be for-sale townhomes and special housing designed for seniors. “There’s a real need for housing in this community, and not just any housing, but a variety of types that can meet different needs,” Connelly emphasized.

Looking Ahead to a Thriving Bull Street

But that’s not all! The future plans for the Bull Street district also include the addition of student housing, broadening the options for residents in this growing area. It’s great to see such a strong focus on community development!
