IRMO, S.C. — Irmo SC golf players who follow the state association calendar have a December date still sitting on the board at the office on St. Andrews Road.

The South Carolina Golf Association lists the Forty Plus Series finale for Dec. 5-6 at Oak Point on Kiawah Island in Johns Island. The series is built as a run of one-day tournaments for players from age 40 through 54. Most of those stops fall on Mondays. The finale is the exception, stretching across a Sunday and a Monday.

Across a full year the association stages about 25 major championships, eight Forty Plus Series events, roughly 10 U.S. Golf Association qualifying rounds and other contests for men and women. The Forty Plus swing is the mid-age slice of that slate, aimed at a higher level of play for that age band rather than a casual club outing.

This year’s Forty Plus trail opened Jan. 12 at Dataw Island Club on St. Helena Island. It then moved to Riverton Pointe Golf Club in Ridgeland on Feb. 16, River Golf Club in North Augusta on March 16 and Aiken Golf Club on March 17. After a long summer gap the group returned Oct. 13 at Carolina Lakes in Indian Land. Oak Point is the closer.

None of those host courses is in Irmo. The events are run from the association office at 7701 St. Andrews Road in Irmo, not far from Crickentree Country Club in the Dutch Fork area of Irmo. Mail can go to P.O. Box 286 in Irmo, and the desk number is 803-732-9311.

Players looking for entry details, live scoring or past champion lists can start with that competitions desk rather than calling each host club on their own. The printed 2026 championships board is marked subject to change, so starting times and formats should be confirmed with the Irmo office before anyone books travel to Johns Island.
