IRMO, S.C. — Irmo Town Administrator Jim Crosland earns $139,247.55 a year, the largest salary on the town payroll, according to pay figures the Town of Irmo released under the state open records law. The chief of the separate Irmo Fire District is close behind at $134,939.74.

Crosland got the job after Irmo Town Council voted without dissent on May 21, 2025, to hire him. He took over on July 7 that year, succeeding Courtney Dennis. Irmo is his hometown, and he spent part of his early career as a sergeant with the town police before serving as city manager in Cayce.

Deputy Administrator Nicholle Burroughs, who previously led the town government in Chapin, ranks second at $126,917. Police Chief Bobby Dale makes $109,430.88, while Lisa Hancock, the finance director, makes $100,850.10. No other town worker reaches six figures. Police supervisors hold the next four spots, starting with the assistant chief at $89,756.

The town listed pay for 45 positions without employee names. The lowest is an administrative assistant at $9,750 a year, and each Town Council member is paid $12,000 annually.

The fire district has 40 employees and covers a larger area along the Lexington and Richland county line. Behind Chief Michael Sonefeld, Assistant Chief Sloane Valentino earns $92,682.46 and Fire Marshal Brian Haley earns $87,611.16. A new Irmo firefighter starts at $41,961.92. District crews work 48 hours on duty, then get 96 hours off.
