IRMO, S.C. — Families in the Harbison area of Irmo can collect Halloween candy a week early this Saturday, Oct. 24, when the neighborhood’s community center stages its Trick-or-Treat Trail beside Lake Woodcross.

Children will have a two-hour window, starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 4, to make the loop. The trail starts at 144 Woodcross Drive and has no admission charge.

Rather than knocking on doors, kids will stop at tables run by local vendors stocked with candy. Food will be sold on site for anyone who gets hungry along the way.

Organizers are also planning giveaways and a costume contest, so dressing up is encouraged. Bring a bag to carry treats home.

Harbison Community Center is putting on the free, family-friendly afternoon event.
