# Irmo Football Sits Ninth in 4A Lower State RPI Race

Irmo, S.C. — The Irmo Yellow Jackets head into the last three weeks of the regular season ninth in the Class 4A Lower State RPI standings with a rating of 0.57472, squarely in the playoff seeding picture.

All five classifications will use RPI for seeding for the first time this fall. In Class 4A, twenty-four teams make the playoffs, split between the Upper State and Lower State, with Regions 5-7 in the Lower State.

Irmo is 4-3 overall and 1-1 in AAAA Region 5, second in the region. The Yellow Jackets have outscored opponents 234 to 96 and are 3-1 away from home after a 38-14 region win at South Aiken.

South Aiken sits just ahead of Irmo in the Lower State list at 0.58222, while May River at 0.56365 and Aiken at 0.55318 are close behind.

Irmo plays at Midland Valley on Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. against a team rated 0.49870. The Yellow Jackets then host Aiken on Oct. 23 and close the regular season at home against Fox Creek on Oct. 30.
