IRMO, S.C. — Dutch Fork kept its long winning streak alive Friday night, beating Chapin 21-8 in a Midlands Class 5A matchup that mattered for readers across the Irmo area.

The final from Friday night was Dutch Fork 21, Chapin 8 in SCHSL play.

A separate Top 25 recap said Dutch Fork extended its winning streak to 17 games as the four-time defending Class 5A champions faced another difficult test.

That account said the Silver Foxes were held without an offensive touchdown in the first half for the first time since the 2023 state championship game against White Knoll.

The recap added that the Dutch Fork defense limited Chapin to 178 total yards before the Silver Foxes pulled away.

Dutch Fork High School sits in the Irmo attendance zone and remains the local measuring stick for Midlands 5A football as region play continues.

Chapin also draws from nearby Lexington County communities, so Friday night scores travel quickly through the Irmo-Chapin corridor.
