A new Carolina Wings & Rib House location is currently under construction in Chapin, a development confirmed by a Facebook post from the chain’s Ballentine location on August 19, 2026. This will mark the fifth establishment for the Midlands-based restaurant chain, known for its extensive menu of chicken wings, ribs, burgers, salads, and sandwiches.
The new restaurant will be situated on Columbia Avenue, slightly outside Chapin’s town center. While an exact address is not yet available, a manager at the Ballentine location stated on August 24 that the building is being constructed from the ground up. It will be located behind the Little Caesars at 523 Columbia Avenue, positioned between Farm Boy’s Barbeque and Lexington Medical Center Urgent Care.
The ownership aims for an early 2027 opening, though a firm estimate is not yet established. Carolina Wings & Rib House first opened in 1996, founded by the Schoolmeesters, who also own the Columbia-area George Roberts Wine & Raw Bar locations. The restaurant emphasizes its commitment to providing delicious, cooked-to-order food at a good value, distinguishing itself from fast-food establishments despite its chain status.
The new site is near Chapin High School, Chophouse of Chapin, a Goodwill, and several fast-food chains. Data from the state Department of Transportation indicates that this stretch of Columbia Avenue experiences traffic of approximately 13,800 cars daily. Other Carolina Wings & Rib House locations are in Ballentine, Cayce, Lexington, and Red Bank.
