A new Carolina Wings & Rib House location is under construction in Chapin, a development confirmed by a Facebook post from the chain’s Ballentine location on August 19, 2026. This will mark the fifth establishment for the Midlands-based restaurant chain, known for its extensive selection of chicken wing flavors.

The new restaurant will be situated on Columbia Avenue, slightly outside Chapin’s town center. While an exact address is not yet available, a manager at the Ballentine location stated on August 24 that the building is being constructed from the ground up. It will be located behind the Little Caesars at 523 Columbia Avenue, positioned between Farm Boy’s Barbeque and Lexington Medical Center Urgent Care.

The goal for the new Carolina Wings & Rib House is to open in early 2027, though a firm estimate for the opening date is not yet established. The chain, which first opened in 1996, offers over 20 chicken wing flavors, alongside burgers, salads, sandwiches, and ribs. The brand was founded by the Schoolmeesters, Midlands restaurateurs who also own the two Columbia-area George Roberts Wine & Raw Bar locations.

Carolina Wings & Rib House emphasizes its local ownership and operation, distinguishing itself from fast-food establishments by cooking its entire menu to order. The new Chapin location will join existing restaurants in Ballentine, Cayce, Lexington, and Red Bank. The Columbia Avenue stretch where the new restaurant is being built experiences traffic of approximately 13,800 cars per day, according to state Department of Transportation data. It will be in proximity to Chapin High School, Chophouse of Chapin, a Goodwill, and several other fast-food chains.
