The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue with the 2026 BMW Championship, featuring the top 50 players in the standings. This week’s tournament, held from August 20-23, takes place at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri. The par 70 course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., stretches approximately 7,500 yards and is expected to favor powerful hitters and skilled ball strikers.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, a four-time major champion and 21-time PGA Tour winner, enters the event with strong momentum, aiming to defend his title after outlasting Robert MacIntyre at Caves Valley last season. Scheffler is listed with odds of 3-1 to win the championship.

Three-time winner Rory McIlroy, a Masters champion, looks to improve his performance after a challenging return to competition in Memphis. McIlroy is treating the FedEx Cup Playoffs as a 12-round tournament, using the BMW Championship as an opportunity to refine his game. His odds are set at 13-1.

Both Scheffler and McIlroy have already secured their spots in the Tour Championship, along with 20 other players from the 50-man field. Viktor Hovland, ranked 22nd, has a 100% chance of advancing to East Lake, according to Data Golf. Players like Alex Smalley, Justin Rose, Ryan Fox, and Tom Kim also have over an 80% chance to qualify for the next stage.

The tournament purse for the 2026 BMW Championship is $20 million. Notable players in the field include Xander Schauffele (17-1 odds), Ludvig Åberg (18-1), Sam Burns (18-1), Cameron Young (19-1), Tommy Fleetwood (20-1), Matt Fitzpatrick (24-1), Chris Gotterup (24-1), Viktor Hovland (27-1), Si Woo Kim (27-1), and Hideki Matsuyama (27-1).

Si Woo Kim, who recently achieved a runner-up finish in Memphis, has recorded five podium finishes and double-digit top-10 finishes this season, making it his best year on the PGA Tour to date.
