Mobile phones should be kept silent or switched off to avoid disturbing other players. Golf shoes are generally restricted to the course and designated clubhouse areas, such as patios, to prevent damage to indoor flooring. Players should also be familiar with general rules concerning lost balls, out-of-bounds shots, winter rules, play from bunkers, unplayable balls, and interaction with live vegetation.
